90-year-old Frane Selak has beaten death 7 times in various cases throughout his life. He has experienced everything from a car accident to a plane crash and has been fortunate to survive all incidents.
Born on June 14, 1929 in Croatia, Frane Selak's incredible series of 'escape from death' began in 1962, when he was 32 years old.
It was January, Frane was traveling from Sarajevo to Dubrovnik on a cold winter day, when suddenly the train he was traveling on derailed due to a fault in the line. This caused the train to crash into an icy river, killing 17 passengers. Thankfully, Frane pulled someone out. He suffered only one arm fracture and hypothermia.
The following year, in 1963, Frane learned that his mother was ill, creating an emergency for him to fly from Zagreb to Rijeka. It was his first plane trip. Although the flight was fully booked, he somehow persuaded the airline to allow him to land in the back of the plane along with the flight attendants. In the middle of the road, both engines of the plane stopped working and the cabin pressure dropped. Frane was thrown out of a broken door as the plane crashed and 19 people on board lost their lives.
Frane fell, but luckily for him, he fell into a haystack. This was the last time he traveled by plane.
