Nora Gjakova won the Gold Medal at the Olympic Games "Tokyo 2020" giving Kosovo again another place at the top. She defeated French judoka Sarah Leoine Cysique in the final. The latter was punished with a red card, which signaled the triumph of the Albanian athlete.
Initially, Nora managed to win over Slovenian opponent Kaja Kaiser, securing the semifinals and after that faced Japan through the 'Golden Score' advancing to the final.
The 28-year-old from Peja is trained by coach Driton Kuka.
Dua Lipa wished Nora victory on her Instagram, expressing pride for Kosovo.
On Saturday, Distria Krasniqi in the weight of 47 kilograms was declared Olympic champion. Judo was the discipline where Kosovo aimed for medals in Tokyo.
