Easter is the main holiday of many Orthodox people. Christians begin to prepare for it 40 days in advance - when Lent begins. But before the holiday, Holy Week begins a week in advance, each day of which requires special preparation. Holy Thursday is one of the days of Holy Week, which is marked with special preparation.
This day is called pure because, according to legend, Christ washed the feet of all 12 disciples during the Last Supper. And since this event happened at night, then you have to swim before sunrise. You can arrange swimming on Wednesday night, you can get up early in the morning - here everyone can do as they please.
It has long been known that Holy Thursday helps orthodox people remove many problems in the family and at work, protects against disease, and even washes away sins. This is why everyone should not waste time, but they should take advantage of the opportunity.
What can and should be done on Maundy Thursday?
There are many rituals and traditions that help people change their lives a lot for the better, but the main thing is to do everything right, only then everything will succeed and luck will become your companion for the whole year, and maybe for the rest of your life.
Take a shower with cold water before sunrise. It is believed that water on this day has a special healing power that can wash away all sins and diseases. But you must do everything with an open heart, with confidence. While bathing, you should recite a prayer. There is also a belief that on this day you should go for a haircut, as all diseases and bad eyes are removed with a haircut.
Clean the house. The big week of Easter, you should definitely clean your house, bake cakes and paint eggs. There is a belief that the dough will not work in an unclean house, because starting cleaning the house on this day, every housewife receives a gift from God - to find her favorite and lost items forever. Before baking cakes, the kitchen should be washed and only bright thoughts in your soul.
Prepare quaternary salt , which has a special healing power for all diseases. Usually, it is cooked only on Holy Thursday - each member of the family takes a handful of salt and pours it into a bag, after which they place all night with the image of Jesus and a burning lamp.
Count the money. There is a popular belief that if you count the money three times on Holy Thursday - in the morning at lunch and midnight, then throughout the year the money will be at home and its owner will not need anything.
