The cost of living in Albania in 2021 will be 3.8 percentage points higher than in 2020, according to the latest review by the global price data portal worldwide, Numbeo.
Albania was ranked 89th, among 131 countries listed. In relation to 2020, Albania climbed in the ranking with 6 countries. These developments show that in Albania, living is becoming more expensive.
In another comparison, an American citizen living in New York receives the same services in Albania spending 60% less.
The cost of living in Albania is rising, but official indicators show that incomes are not growing at the same pace. Wages in the private and public sectors have risen in recent years at rates more or less similar to inflation.

The most expensive Tirana
According to Numbeo, Tirana is the city with the highest cost of living in Albania with almost 18 points higher than the national average. In the capital the cost of living is 58% of the cost of New York.
