Small houses and apartments do not stop many Japanese couples from sleeping in different beds, even different rooms. This is not some kind of issue related to intimacy, but something they believe is good for them. The Bright Side revealed why married couples in Japan choose to sleep separately, and we really love their reasons!

For them, sleeping alone means peace.
While many couples who start sleeping just think divorce is on their doorstep, the Japanese see it differently. They value their sleep a lot and do not want to be bothered while sleeping. This means that they do not need and do not like to endure night snoring, kicks, etc.

They have different sleep schedules
The first thing that makes Japanese couples decide to go to bed separately, are the different work schedules. Waking up one partner just because the other returned from work late or had to leave early in the morning does not result in quality rest for them. This is why spending the night in another room makes sense. This gives them a restless and healthier sleep.

Babies sleep with their
mothers Japanese mothers sleep with their children and this is considered very important, so the father has to decide if he wants to share the same bed or go to another room. Even science has proven that coexistence in sleep can help parents and children sleep more peacefully. Helps baby maintain a stable temperature and heart rate at the same time. This choice reduces the chance of sudden infant death syndrome. It also contributes to the child having better self-esteem, becoming independent faster and being excellent in school.
