Another grave event has shaken Italy. A 34-year-old nurse, who was serving at the San Gerardo Hospital in Monza, has killed herself after being tested positive for COVID-19.

The Italian media reports that stress, fatigue, and perhaps even concern that it could infect other individuals, have led the nurse to suicide.

The news was released by the Italian National Nursing Federation in a statement expressing "all the pain and concern of the nurses over the death of the young colleague and all of the 450,000 Italian professionals who are fighting united around their families, friends and colleagues". .

The nurse, Daniela Trezzi, worked in the intensive care unit of the San Gerardo Hospital, which was one of the largest countries fighting the pandemic.

This is only the latest case of such an event, as a week ago another nurse in Venezia killed herself.

"It's an analogous event with the same motivation, and although we wish it the opposite, it may not be the last," the Federation report said.
