The season of one of the loveliest fruits of the summer season, watermelon, started and is continuing with numerous consumer debates over the level of nitrate content. The news is that the watermelons in the country have high levels of nitrate, many times higher than they are.

The excess of chemicals in this fruit turns into a toxic substance when it enters the body and causes poisoning. The most common symptoms of watermelon poisoning are dizziness, mood swings and stomach spasms.

Former Minister of Agriculture, Edmond Panariti, in a public reaction has expressed concern over this disturbing phenomenon. He has shared to consumers a simple method of how to differentiate at home if watermelon has high nitrate content.

The method recommended by the former Minister of Agriculture consists in introducing a piece of fire into a bowl of water at room temperature. If there is high nitrate content, the water will get lit pink.

Take a piece of watermelon watermelon and put in a bowl of water. Leave it for 10 minutes! If the water is painted in pink, then the watermelon has high nitrate levels. If the water remains colorless, the watermelon is OK. Likewise, if the piece floats on the surface and does not sink, the watermelon is OK ....
